Mark Payne - CEO Digital Rez Australia

In 1991 Mark was a partner in a hospitality software company (HCS) that was searching for an upgrade path for its legacy DOS system clients and partnered with Digital Rez to form Digital Rez Australia (DRA).

DRA is now a leading industry supplier supporting over 400 clients across 5 time zones in Australia & New Zealand.

Mark is involved in the local Chamber of Commerce and regional Queensland Tourism organizations and is married to Sue, (DRA’s office administration manager) they have a son & three daughters. For fun, motor cycles & fishing do the trick.

In 1974, Mark started in the banking industry working on GE/Honeywell mainframe computers. These new age “Mainframes” took up the whole floor of a city skyscraper, came with 512 KB RAM and banks of 200MB hard disks and cost millions of dollars to purchase & maintain. 9 years later, the release of the IBM XT, complete with a 10 MB hard drive, 128KB RAM and a 360KB floppy drive for $5,000 heralded the start of the personal PC revolution and had you participating in the information age.

20+ years later & the close of 2006 brings us to the present, now our digital cameras pack more power than those early mainframes. What’s more exciting is that new PC information age is really starting to change the way we do business. Wide spread broadband access has flattened the world around us and has given birth to the “self directed consumer”

Coming here together in Barbados presents us with a tremendous opportunity to nurture these “self directed consumers” in the emerging national & international camper networks.
